Topic: You can’t unring a bell

Abstract:

A case study that spanned four years and involved three different attorneys, with many twists and turns along the way. During the trial, 90 known exemplars of signatures and sets of initials were presented, with about half being thrown out. Despite these challenges, I was able to make adjustments on the fly and present the truth at trial.

Bio:

Bob Baier has been a forensic document examiner since 2003 and has testified as an expert 81 times in eleven (11) different states in various court proceedings. Bob has rendered an opinion in more than 1,600 cases and examined more than 33,000 documents.  He has been a New York State Certified Law Enforcement Instructor for general topics which includes document examination and has trained law enforcement personnel, as well as recruits, in that field.  He has also trained law enforcement in two additional states. He has been a part time instructor at the International School of Forensic Document Examination and has been a primary instructor for training the document examiners in the Country of Jamaica.  Bob has three certifications as a Forensic Document Examiner.  He has made presentations at national and international conferences for document examinations.
