Topic:Application of ISO 9001:2015 to develop a quality management system (QMS) for forensic examiners
Speaker: Mr. Mike Wakshull
Mike, vice president of SAFE, is a certified quality engineer. Mike worked in pharmaceutical and medical device industries helping to develop quality management systems (QMS). He applies this skill to his work as a forensic document examiner. In this seminar, Mike shares how he uses a quality management system to enhance his forensics work.
Abstract:
ISO 9001 is used internationally across industries to develop quality management systems that are appropriate to the specific industry. The American Society for Quality (ASQ) defines a QMS as, “A quality management system (QMS) is a structured framework that defines and documents an organization’s processes, procedures, and responsibilities for achieving quality policies, practices, and objectives. The goal of a QMS is to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve customer satisfaction.”
We discuss how the standards we use as forensic document examiners align with the implementation of a QMS.
